Thank you for your interest in trading in your gold jewelry pieces for Melissa Joy Manning credit!

Here’s how our GoldMine program works:

1. Share a photo and itemized list of the pieces you are interested in trading. We accept solid gold (nothing plated or gold filled).
2. Once your items are approved, we will assign you a unique authorization number to track your gold.
3. Mail us your gold and clearly mark your authorization number on the outside of your package. We recommend that you insure the shipment. Melissa Joy Manning Inc. will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
4. Once we receive your items, we will assay them to confirm the gold karat weight.  We will then weigh your gold (in grams) and offer you a credit based on the current scrap value less our 10% handling fee. You will have 24 hours to accept the credit amount.  
5. You will be issued a credit using the gold market rate on the day that your gold is weighed.  Gold fluctuates and we can only issue a credit against live gold pricing.  
6. If you aren’t happy with your scrap value estimate or change your mind, we will return your pieces. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of insured return shipping. Melissa Joy Manning Inc. will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
7. When you decide to move forward, you will be issued a credit in the form of a digital gift card. This gift card can be redeemed online or in-store at our Brooklyn location. Your credit can also be applied toward any custom or heirloom redesign project.

Additional Information

1. If your jewelry has easily set stones, we will remove and return them to you. You will be responsible for the cost of the insured return shipping. Melissa Joy Manning Inc. will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
2. If your jewelry has intricately set stones or multiple settings, and you want the stones back, we will give you a quote to unset your stones.  Once you pay that quote, we will take your stones out and weigh your gold.
3. If your gold has heirloom stones or high value stones, we recommend that you have them appraised before we remove them.  
4. Unsetting stones can be tricky and some stones are more fragile than others.  When sending us your old jewelry, you recognize that although we will do our best to retain the integrity of your stones, we can’t be held responsible for any damage to them in the removal process.
