"Take the Chance" 

Dallas and Lori met on mere chance as they were both in the D.C. area. His current residence is in NYC and hers is in Delaware.

From the very first date, we knew we found someone special. As both of us are designers, on our third date, Dallas took me to see wood slabs of a 120 yr old Pecan Tree being milled for his custom furniture designs.  As time passed, we knew that there just wasn’t another person on this planet that either one of us wanted to be with for the rest of our lives. We have never laughed so much as the time we have spent together. Fast forward two and a half years of weekend commuting, and we are still laughing all the time.

We started searching online for a ring, looking for something special. We wanted something unique, artistic and most importantly, full of color.  We both strongly support our local neighborhood small shops, so it was important to us that our rings were a part of something positive.

When we came upon Melissa’s work, the designs resonated strongly with both of us.  Entering the Brooklyn store, Jackie was relaxed and laid back. We all quickly agreed upon an engagement ring with a Montana sapphire, a stone full of color.  We also fell in love with the handmade wedding bands. A few weeks later, Dallas proposed with Melissa’s ring and custom made Pecan box to match. The box is from that very same tree on our third date. 

I said “hell yes” and we are on our way to our future.  We feel so lucky to have found so much happiness together that we tell all of our single friends to “Take the chance” and keep searching. One day it will all click together and you’ll swipe right on your future.
