"Fortunately for me, Kevin has an appreciation for jewelry. He also specifically appreciates Melissa’s aesthetic and values so most of my gifts from Kevin over the years have come from MJM. Lucky me!

I became interested in rough diamond rings when I saw one years ago, and as Kevin and I began talking about engagement he got excited about them too. As we began to explore, the team at MJM was able to help us understand the wide variety of rough diamonds and articulate what I liked so that Kevin could design the ring.

After weeks of collaboration and searching with the MJM team, Kevin identified one stone as perfect and secretly had my sister come to Brooklyn to confirm his decision.



I wanted the ring to be a surprise, but Kevin (a very meticulous decision maker) wanted me to give him a final thumbs up. I’m glad I agreed to check it out because when we got to the shop Melissa was there and she helped us think through the setting and how to orient the stone. She also pointed out unique features of the diamond which make me appreciate the ring even more.

Kevin proposed in August while we were on an early morning walk with our dog Prospect Park. Even though I helped pick out the stone, seeing the final outcome was exciting - One of my favorite things about the ring is that the bezel setting accentuates that the stone isn’t a perfect circle.
