MJM Love Stories: Renée & Britt
Renée and Britt met at a mutual friend's birthday party in 2015 when they were both living in Washington, D.C. They hit it off immediately and chatted the whole night. Shortly after that, they began dating, and bonded over their shared love for cooking, the outdoors, and travel. Their shared values and sense of community helped keep them strong through multiple cross-country moves.
In August, 2019, they moved to Berkeley—with their cats Otis and Lola who were adopted in Chicago—for Britt to begin their PhD in Cultural Anthropology. A few months later, Renée was thrilled to be accepted to UC Berkeley for law school (right across the courtyard from Britt's building)!
How did you select Melissa Joy Manning for your rings?
"We're so excited to be taking this next step in our relationship! We came across MJM on Instagram and were so excited to realize that there was beautiful, ethically sourced jewelry being made right in our neighborhood."
What is the story behind your rings? How did you approach the designs?
"Neither one of us is good at keeping a secret from the other, so we decided to design our rings together. After trying on some different designs in the shop, Leigh showed us a pear-shaped sapphire that we fell in love with for Renée, and Britt chose a textured gold band. We are in love with how they both turned out.
We can't wait to bring our family and friends from across the country together in San Diego to celebrate our marriage in September 2023!"
"We truly could not be happier with the experience of working with MJM and the beautiful rings we got."
Thank you to Renée & Britt, we are honored to be part of your love story!
