Summer Newsletter
I love summer. In particular, the beach. There’s nothing better than spending all day in the sun with my son, building sand forests, digging moats and listening to the ocean crash. Here are some of my favorite beach must haves as well as tips for keeping your jewelry sand and sunscreen-free.
My Vacation Must Haves
The best towel from Eskayel, a 1% company. Shanan donates a portion of her annual sales to a global network of non-profits, particularly those that protect our oceans. And it’s chic too…

The safest sunscreen for you and baby (and our oceans!) We all want to stay protected but did you know sunscreen use is killing our reefs?
Check this list of reef safe sunscreens for some great recommendations!
The best hat- my dear friend, Jessie, of Loeffler Randall, decided to make a limited run of pretty hats. Everything she does is gorg! But even better, $10 of every hat is donated to the ACLU. Check her instagram feed @jessie_loeffler_randall to join the wait list for her handmade creation.

Snacks- I’ve recently become obsessed with Pop & Bottle. Have you tried it? Amazing treat that is healthy and energizing, though once in a while a Mr Softee is fun!

Lastly, I always bring an extra garbage bag. My son and I play “cleaning up” at the end of the day and grab whatever plastic we see and tote it to the trash. Every bit helps. I encourage you to grab the next bottle cap you see floating in the ocean or hanging out in the sand.
And now to jewels and my beach tips-
1- NEVER wear your rings to the beach. Get a super cute ring dish and leave them behind. Sunscreen and sand damages stones. It’s best to flash them elsewhere.
2- If you need to wear jewels (I know I do!) keep earrings small- studs or hugs are best. Big earrings can get lost in waves or are easily pulled out when towel drying your hair.
3- Make sure your necklaces have sturdy clasps. I’m lazy and don’t take mine off- I just untangle them every time I emerge from a wave. Prob not the best advice but you gotta live, right?
4- I don’t take off my bracelets either. My signature gold and diamond cuff just seems to get shinier. But, again, I check it constantly to make sure it’s snug. If you don’t want to worry, leave it at home with the rings.
